Instagram Reel cover image specifications
Instagram Reel covers use the same 9:16 vertical format as Stories: 1080×1920 pixels. The cover shows as a 1:1 square in your profile grid, so keep the main subject centred in the middle third of the image to avoid cropping. Upload JPEG for photos, PNG if you need sharp text or logos.
