All IBPS and SBI exams use the same portal infrastructure (IBPSOnline / SBI careers portal), and they apply identical photo/signature validation. Upload the wrong size and the form won't let you proceed.

Note the minimum of 20KB — don't compress too aggressively. Targeting 50KB keeps you safely within the valid range on every portal.

How to compress your photo for IBPS/SBI (3 steps)
Get a recent passport-size photo with a plain white background. Coloured or patterned backgrounds will get your application rejected during document verification, not just at upload.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the IBPS portal say "photo size not within limit"?
IBPS enforces both a minimum (20KB) and maximum (50KB) file size. If your photo is either too small (heavy compression) or too large (uncompressed studio photo), it gets rejected. This tool targets 50KB which is right at the upper valid limit — always accepted.
Can I use the same photo for IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk?
Yes. Both exams have identical photo requirements. Compress once, save the file, and upload the same compressed photo to each application. The photo is also reused for admit cards and interview call letters in the same cycle.
Does SBI accept PNG photos?
No — SBI and IBPS portals require JPEG format. PNG files are rejected at upload. This tool converts to JPEG automatically while compressing.
How old can my photo be for IBPS?
IBPS guidelines state the photograph should be recent (taken within the last 6 months). Avoid very old photos — examiners verify your face at the exam centre against the printed admit card.
